Chessie Henry is the author of We Can Make a Life, a family memoir which was awarded a best first book award at the 2019 Ockham New Zealand Book Awards. Her personal essays have been published on The Spinoff and The Wireless, and she has an MA in Creative Writing from the International Institute of Modern Letters. She lives in Ōtautahi Christchurch, where she is currently working on a novel.
