Máire Uí Dhufaigh

Máire Uí Dhufaigh (Ní Chonghaile) was brought up on Inis Oirr, the smallest of the three Aran Islands situated in Galway Bay. She lived and worked as a teacher in Dublin for many years before returning to live
in Inis Oirr. She has received two Oireachtas awards in the Fiction for Young Adults category (2011 & 2015). Two of her novels have been published by Leabhar Breac (An Garda Cósta and Raic) and she is currently working on the third novel in this series which is set on the fictitious island of Oileán na Leice in the west of Ireland. She is very active on a voluntary basis in the community, particularly in the area of Language Planning.

Rugadh agus tógadh Máire Uí Dhufaigh (Ní Chonghaile) in Inis Oirr, an ceann is lú de thrí Oileáin Árann. Chaith sí blianta fada ag múineadh scoile i mBaile Átha Cliath sular fhill sí ar a háit dúchais. Tá dhá dhuais Oireachtais buaite aici sa rannóg Ficsean do Dhaoine óga (2011 & 2014). D’fhoilsigh Leabhar Breac dhá leabhar dá cuid An Garda Cósta (2012 ) agus Raic (2015) agus tá sí ag obair faoi láthair ar an tríú úrscéal sa sraith seo do dhéagóirí, atá suite in Oileán na Leice, oileán samhailteach in iarthar na hÉireann. Bíonn sí gníomhach go deonach sa bpobal, go mór mór i réimse na Pleanála Teanga.
