Paul Millar

Paul Millar is Professor of English and Digital Humanities at the University of Canterbury. He researches and writes in the areas of New Zealand and Pacific literature, literary biography, digital humanities and social and cultural impacts of disasters. He is currently writing a biography of poet, editor and cultural philanthropist, Charles Brasch. In 2011 he founded the CEISMIC Canterbury Earthquakes Digital Archive (www.ceismic.org) to collect images, stories and media about the Canterbury Earthquakes for the purposes of commemoration, teaching and research. He also leads a major Marsden-funded longitudinal study of post disaster narratives to better understand the long-term impacts of traumatic events on people and communities.
