CANCELLED – Arohamai koutou: due to COVID restrictions our venue is no longer open to visitors at this time, so this event is now cancelled. We will be bringing it back stronger than ever in 2022.
As Māori and Pasifika writers and storytellers, what do we want the future of indigenous storytelling to look like? Hosted in the stunning indigenous design space of Tokona Te Raki, the Māori Futures Collective, this wānaka (workshop) explores ways of telling our own stories, navigating and remaking the mainstream writing world, and the evolution of traditions and forms. It’s also a chance to meet and welcome the Te Papa Tupu emerging writers crew, and have a kai with storytellers from across the motu. Special guests include Patricia Grace, Ben Brown, Kera Sherwood O’Regan, and Daisy Speaks.
Please note: All events are general admission seating. The safety of our audience is paramount: please arrive early, scan in and wear a mask. Audience numbers are capped under COVID Alert Level 2 and social distancing measures will be in place within each venue.
If you are an existing ticket holder and you are no longer able to attend, please email ticketing@wordchristchurch.co.nz so we can offer the place to someone else.
