Tickets to all events at WORD Christchurch Festival 2021 are accessible via the events on our website – follow the links on the right-hand side of each page.
TICKETING AND COVID ALERT LEVELS: THE SHOW WILL GO ON!
Every ticket comes with a backup plan. This is our main operating principle: no matter what happens with alert levels, we have a festival for you. In brief:
- Level 1: Showtime.
- Level 2: Showtime – with intimate audiences!
- Our venues will operate with limited capacity to maintain social distancing and comply with health directives.
- If in-person tickets are sold out, for most events you can still purchase a livestream ticket to watch the event at home.
- If you hold tickets from the postponed August festival, but miss out on a place in the venue in November, you’ll be offered a refund, and access to the livestream where applicable. You will have already been contacted about this – check your email.
- Levels 3 & 4, or if we deem it unsafe to run in venues: Most events will run as livestreams to be watched at home on your laptop / tablet / phone / TV. If you hold in-venue tickets you will automatically be sent livestream tickets. If you hold livestream tickets, these remain valid for alert levels 3 and 4. Though under Level 3/4 livestreams will simply be festival artists appearing via Zoom from their own homes, the conversation will be as brilliant as ever.
Our livestreams are delivered via Tikstream, and will work with most modern browsers, tablets and phones. Like all online content, livestreams require a good internet connection. We recommend at least 5Mbps. You can test your speed here.
In-venue tickets for all events, except the WORD Gala, are via Eventfinda.

On event day: Ticketek Box Office at the Town Hall will be open one hour before the event starting time.
Concession tickets are available to Gold Card holders, students with ID and unwaged. Service fees as above.
Where possible, if not already sold out, door sales will be available from one hour before the session from the relevant venue. Please note door sales are strictly limited and we advise booking early to avoid disappointment. Door sales will be the advertised standard ticket price plus service fees.

$1.00 per ticket for tickets face value $20.00 and below
$2.50 per ticket for tickets face value $20.01 and above

Ticketek may charge customers who purchase tickets using Ticketek’s sales network a Transaction Fee as follows:
Internet w/ tickets mailed via standard post: $8.50 per transaction
Internet w/ tickets delivered by email or SMS: $5.50 per transaction
Mobile (delivery via SMS to a smartphone): $5.50 per transaction
Call centre with tickets mailed via standard post: $9.50 per transaction
Group tickets w/ tickets mailed via standard post: $9.50 per transaction
Courier $5.50 per transaction
Rural Courier $7.50 per transaction

FREE EVENTS – Capacity for free events is limited and we advise arriving early to secure a seat. Seats will not be able to be held. Please arrive 15 minutes prior to event to secure your seat.
COVID-19 scanning will be available at all venues and we ask all patrons to scan in to be safe.
Ticket prices are GST inclusive and subject to availability.
General Admission events do not have allocated seating.
Tickets are non-transferable between events.
There are no refunds or exchanges on lost or stolen tickets.
There are no exchanges or refunds on ticket price or service fees except as required by law.
We reserve the right not to admit latecomers until a suitable point in the session.
PROGRAMME CHANGES AND UPDATES
WORD Christchurch Festival reluctantly reserves the right to change the schedule, speakers or replace sessions. Any unavoidable changes will be advertised on the festival website, and through our social media networks. In the unlikely event of a cancellation, the ticket price will be refunded. Transaction/service fees are non-refundable.

Sadly, due to COVID-19 social distancing requirements, there will be no book signings at WORD Christchurch Festival 2021. We encourage you to still support our writers by purchasing their books, either from the UBS bookshop at The Piano, or ordering online from www.ubscan.co.nz.
